Janis Cole

For over forty years, filmmaker and writer Janis Cole has committed her lens and her pen to representing people on the fringes of society with the dignity they deserve. From her landmark, award-winning documentaries like P4W: Prison for Women and Hookers on Davie to her acclaimed dramatic screenwriting for the CBC, her storytelling has consistently challenged institutional boundaries and championed human rights. Named Professor Emerita by OCAD University after a distinguished 30-year teaching career, Janis remains an active voice in the creative community.
